Market Authorized Biocides Database

Note – Product information is shown in the language submitted to Health Canada by organizations not subject to the Official Languages Act.

Note – The MABD (Marketed Authorized Biocides Database) displays the authorization and market status of biocides in Canada. A biocide is considered Authorized once Health Canada issues a market authorization (authorized for import, sale and advertisement). After notification of first sale, the status changes to Marketed. The Status field may also show Suspended or Revoked; products with these statuses cannot be legally sold.

Authorization holders must notify Health Canada of first sale within 30 days and must report annually whether the biocide is being sold in Canada. To update status, submit the Biocides Application Form (BAF). Updates appear in the MABD once processed. There is no “Dormant” status under the Biocides Regulations; temporary pauses in sale do not change market status.
