What the medication is used for
JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is an antibiotic medicine used in adult women to treat urinary tract infections.
Antibacterial drugs like JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN treat only bacterial infections. They do not treat viral infections. JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN should be used exactly as directed. Misuse or overuse of JAMPFOSFOMYCIN could lead to the growth of bacteria that will not be killed by JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN (resistance). This means that JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN may not work for you in the future. Do not share your medicine.
What it does
JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing the infection. JAMPFOSFOMYCIN starts working to kill bacteria within hours after taking it. The bladder irritation caused by the bacteria and the symptoms that you may be feeling can last for a short time even after the bacteria have been killed.

Medicinal ingredient: fosfomycin tromethamine (equivalent to 3g of fosfomycin)

Nonmedicinal ingredients: mandarin and orange flavouring, saccharin sodium, sucrose.

Single Dose Sachet: 3 g of powder

JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is not related to penicillin or other antibiotics that commonly cause allergic reactions. If you have a history of allergy to antibiotics, inform your doctor before taking JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN. Allergic reactions to JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN have been reported. Do not take JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN if you have previously had an allergic reaction to it.
Ability to Drive and Use Machine: Dizziness has been reported from some patients taking JAMPFOSFOMYCIN which may affect your ability to drive and operate machinery. Do not drive or operate machines until you know how you respond to JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN.

Proper use of this medication
How to take JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN:
- It is recommended that JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN be taken on an empty stomach or at least 2-3 hours after a meal.
- Empty entire contents of JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN sachet into about 125 mL (½ cup) of cold water and stir to dissolve.
- Take immediately after dissolving in water,making sure to drink the complete contents of the glass.
One sachet of JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is a complete therapy for treating your bladder infection. Since JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is eliminated in urine over a period of three days, the bacteria in the bladder are killed by JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN during this period of time. You should see complete relief or improvement in your symptoms within 2 to 3 days. If your symptoms do not improve by the fourth day, you should contact your healthcare professional.
Usual adult dose:
The usual dose of JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN is one single dose sachet.
Overdose
If you think you have taken too much JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN, contact your healthcare professional, hospital emergency department or regional Poison Control Centre immediately, even if there are no symptoms.
Missed Dose
JAMP-FOSFOMYCIN treatment consists of a single dose. If you did not take your dose at the prescribed time, take it on an empty stomach or at least 2-3 hours after your next meal.

How to store
Store at 15°C -30°C.
Do not use after the expiration date printed on the box.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
